Metal Murals are a fantastically cool way of displying landscape and portrait photos! They are photos printed on a thin sheets of metal for a very cool and modern look. This one is hanging in my dining room right now. Its a collection of shots from the NW 23rd area of Portland.

What a fantastically fun family! The boys were such a pair of characters - so much energy! I love when parents just let their kids be themselves, and these two absolutely do. So much love and connection in their house. Even with our lovely rainy Northwest weather that morning, I had a blast with these guys.

I think its safe to say that 2009 has been a bit of a rough year for most of us. Things are tough right now. Its been tough in our house as well, but its also a good kick in the pants to remind me of what is truly important, and WHO is truly important in my life. With Mother's Day coming up, I'm especially thinking of that bond between moms & their kids. Its true that you really dont know how much your mom loves you until you have children of your own who torture you, test your nerves, and you keep loving them anyway. Yesterday I had a rough day - bills, kids, work, all the pressures of daily life coming down at once. Then, there was a knock at the door and a smiling man in a brown uniform handed me these gorgeous tulips (my favorite!). The note inside was from my mom, wishing me a happy mothers day. Yes, my mom sending ME flowers for mothers day. Its like she just knew that I needed a little boost - the timing couldn't have been better. Thanks mom, I love you and miss you!

Back from Vacation...

Ahhh...warm weather, good friends, and fantastic food & drinks. I LOVE CANCUN! I truly believe that a week in Cancun is like a year of marriage counseling...no children...no pressures...just you & your honey. Think of all the money you'll save on a therapist! After almost 20 years together I love that we are even more connected then ever. Love you babe :)
